Daniel Sinykin - President

Mr. Sinykin explored over 20 companies prior to purchasing Roller Fabrics in February 1995.  In order to ensure that he was making the right decision, he spent seven months working at Roller Fabrics without pay before finally making the purchase.  Prior to Roller Fabrics, he started a chain of retail tailor stores, called Tailor’s Touch, throughout Chicago and the east coast.  Mr. Sinykin managed the operations and expansion to 14 stores.  Prior to Tailor’s Touch, he worked for Procter& Gamble in sales and marketing for six years.  Based in Chicago and Cincinnati, Mr. Sinykin was a sales representative, District Field Representative and Unit Manager for the Beverage Division. 

Mr.Sinykin is active in all facets of the business.  To date, he has assembled his management team, increased sales, made numerous acquisitions growing the business, consolidated multiple manufacturing facilities, and has diversified the business into countless new areas, including automotive, equestrian, apparel, hospital, and pet products. 

Mr. Sinykin earned his Bachelor of Science from Drake University.

 Brent Birkhoff - Vice President of Administration
 
Mr. Birkhoff joined Roller Fabrics in April 1996.  He was previously the Director of Operations for Virtuem Entertainment, a $20 million entertainment concept, and Vice President of Operations for a chain of Blockbuster Video stores.  As Vice President, he oversaw all product management, marketing, human resources, construction, projections and budgeting, and personally supervised store management for a multi-state region.  Under Mr.Birkhoff’s direction, the franchise was nominated three consecutive years for the Blockbuster Franchise Marketing Award.

In this role, Mr. Birkhoff is directly responsible for all aspects of human resources, administration, and marketing for Monterey Mills.  In addition to the development and execution of Company policies, procedures, and standards, he manages the Denali Home Furnishing and Palace Pet Products retail lines.  Mr. Birkhoff is a member of the company's strategy team.

Mr. Birkhoff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Spanish and Sociology from Monmouth College, Illinois and a minor inphilosophy from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.

Eddie Ellison - Vice President of Manufacturing
 
Mr. Ellison is not new to the sliver knit industry.  Prior to joining the company in 1999, Eddie Ellison is a seasoned veteran in the business, having worked for Glenoit Mills for over 20 years, much of that time as the Plant Manager of their 287,000 square foot facility. Mr. Ellison directed over 200 employees in the manufacturing of everything from berbers and jacquard fabrics to tumbled and polished fabrics.

In his role, Mr. Ellison is directly responsible for day-to-day production and management of union employees, non-union supervisors, and managers.  He has brought production to levels never before achieved, improved quality standards and has expanded product lines into new markets by introducing new production techniques.

 


Dan Koopmann - Sales Manager/General Textiles

           

Mr. Koopmann joined Monterey Mills in May of 1979 in the Research and Development area.  His responsibility was working with chemical suppliers and Monterey Mills' manufacturing group to develop fiber processing chemicals.  Mr. Koopmann took over the responsibility of Director of Quality Control.  Responsibilities included quality control checks inside the mill and working with customers.  Mr. Koopmann then transferred to Assistant Sales Manager where he interacted between the sales representatives and the mill over new markets and customer orders.

Mr. Koopmann was promoted to Sales Manager/General Textiles in 1993.  He currently oversees sales personnel and sales representatives along with maintaining his own list of customers.


Ed Lowder - Director of Industrial Sales

Mr. Lowder joined the Monterey Mills' team in December, 2003.  Prior to that, he had worked for 18 years with Collins & Aikman, a textile manufacturer, in their Roxboro, NC facility.  He started as a Cost Accountant and then moved to the sales department where he served as an Assistant Sales Manager, Sales Manager and Director of Sales. 

In his current role, Mr. Lowder is responsible for the Paint Applicator accounts.  He coordinates developments between the R & D staff and customers to address constantly changing market demands.  In addition, he works with the Purchasing team to address the dynamic raw material market to insure best product and pricing is offered. Mr. Lowder also works with the manufacturing group to address customer demands and promotions that must be met in order to successfully service today’sretail market. 

Mr. Lowder has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from North Carolina State University.
